This pretty little guy was dumped and found a home here. We call him Duncan, he's about 5 years old, already neutered and house broke. Great watch dog, too.
Sadly, Duncan received an injury to his knee which the vet said would cost between $350 and $430 to repair. It's unknown how he was injured.
I donated Duncan to a Sheltie Rescue. He has had knee surgery and came through just fine. I recieved an email from the rescue on March 19, quote, His surgery is over and he is doing really good.. unquote. As of today, March 27, they still have it posted that Duncan is awaiting surgery.
I would like to offer a word of caution to anyone who may be thinking of working with or donating to a private rescue. The one that took Duncan has posted lies about me on their site which they refuse to remove. I realize that they must make the previous owners seem like villians so they can manipulate the emotions of the public so they will donate money. Remember, the objective of this private rescue is to get us, the public, to donate our hard earned dollars to support their hobby. They can then brag about how "they" saved this or that dog and they can play the big hero, LOL. They will say anything to squeeze your money out of you to support their agenda. This particular rescue is claiming Duncan's surgery cost $1500 when my vet said this surgery would be between $350 and $450. Hmmmm.
So, please be very cautious, I had to learn the hard way. |
